About EuRo 2016
In hot summer, EURO 2016 was held in
France at June 10th. 53 countries participated
in this competition and only 24 countries made
it out of the qualifying rounds. Portugal, which
won the EURO for the first time, won a trophy
and Antoine Griezmann became the top scorer
of the competition.
There were so many unexpected events
in EURO 2016. Strong teams such as
England, Spain, Croatia had poor results and
unexpected, weak teams advanced in the round
of 16. An example of this is Iceland, whose play made a big
shock. It locates in northwest of England, which has about
310,000 people. Indeed, many people have expected that
Iceland couldn't get through in the qualifying round. But by
a miracle, Iceland made it in the quarter final. The applause
that Iceland's fan did when Iceland played a game, remains
in many fans' memories.
Wales made a great progress as well. Wales, located in
southwest of England, participated in this competition for
the first time. Despite their first competition, Wales made
it to the semi-final thanks to Gareth Bale, its world-class
winger and the team's leader.
Portugal settled 3rd grade in the qualifying round,
which was not a good start. In spite of the poor result of
the qualifying round, they made it to the final thanks to
Cristiano Ronaldo's contribution. Finally, Portugal met
France in the final. The game has gone into extra time, and
Taekwondo in Rio Olympics
Taekwondo is considered as a
national sport in Republic of Korea,
and our players has been winning
many Olympic medals after it became
an summer Olympic event in 2000.
So I am going to tell you about game
rules of Taekwondo and Korean
national players who won medals in
Rio Olympics 2016.
1. Game Rules
First, there are three main game
rules: game time, weight class and
scoring system. It has three game
rounds and there is one minute break
among each round. There are four
weight classes in Taekwondo.
# Men: -58kg, 68kg, -80kg, +80kg
# Women: -49kg, 57kg, -67kg, +67kg
2. Scoring System
A player must strike the head and torso of his/her opponent
to get a point. Details are below:
# Body part : Head / Torso
# Spin attack using Technology : 4 points / 3 points
# Average attack : 3 points / 1 point

at 109 minutes Eder scored a dramatic goal and
finally Portugal won a trophy.
There was a funny coincidence in this
competition. Ronaldo(Real Madrid) and France's
score king Griezmann(Atletico Madrid) already met
in UEFA champions league final with their teams
which is playing in Primera Division de Espana.
Real Madrid won that match and Ronaldo smiled.
In this competition, Ronaldo's Portugal won a
trophy again so Griezmann got frustrated again.
EURO 2016, which gave many fun and sensation
for world people, was ended at 10th July.

3. Korean National Players
There are five Korean national
players who took part in Rio Olympic:
Kim Taehun, Lee Daehun, Cha
Dongmin, Kim Sohui, and Oh Haelee.
Originally, There must have been only
four players in a country who could
participate in Olympics. However,
due to some of the rule changes,
every player from the first place to
sixth place can be given automatic
qualification for the Olympic from now
on. So it could be possible to send five
Korean national players in Rio Olympic
held in Brasil.

What a surprising results that every Korean national player
won a medal! I am really proud that they have accomplished
these amazing records!
